I never thought that I would like teaching 4th grade, but I seriously love my 28 4th graders. I have 15 boys and I have a sweet spot for them even the trouble makers. One boy asked me if I was a
Mormon. I of course said yes and then he asked me if I go to church. Again I said yes and then he said then you're good. Then yesterday I walked the class to the bathroom and was waiting for them to be finished, the first kids out were all boys so this same boy said boys rule and girls drool. I said excuse me? He quickly changed it to boys rule and girls drool except Mrs. Starliper and Mrs. White( my mentor teacher). My teacher has trouble remembering all the students name and especially mine, it's funny hearing her make up new names for me. And some of the kids call me Mrs. Starlip which is pretty awesome. But we were having a class meeting and I was calling everyone by their correct name and she said, Mrs. Starliper has really gotten your names done well. The class then replied yeah she should be the teacher and you should be the student teacher. She explained that she has almost taught for 20 years, and had close to 30 students every year so she has 600 student names always floating around her head, that is way she can mess up once in a while. The kids love that I'm from Texas and some are even Cowboys fans which is strange to me since they live in Payson Utah which is a little town. I love teaching them and getting to know them better, and I think they are starting to love me too.
P.S. I dressed up as a gypsy for Halloween at the school and most of them don't know what a gypsy is.
check out the sweet "S" Matt and I made in the background, we covered it in blue and yellow buttons.
A closer look
P.P.S Matt and I are addicted to Twilight. We watched it 3 days in a row and were tempted to watch it a fourth day. We're getting New Moon and Eclipse this weekend and then going to the midnight showing of Breaking Dawn on November 17th. CANNOT WAIT.
