Onesie Announcement

The first trimester went by so slowly. It is weird, because you know your are pregnant, but you don't look pregnant. So it just goes by painfully slow, because you just want to share the news and start seeing that baby bump and feeling your baby! I'm so glad to be getting out of the first trimester, because I have been so sick with no energy!

Some note able things that happened during our first 12 weeks were:
We had an ultrasound at 7 weeks and some days.
We had my first prenatal appointment and heard the heartbeat again! Matt's favorite sound.
We announced to all our friends and family!

We are so excited to be blessed with this opportunity to be parents. We can't wait to meet this baby that we are already so in love with! February 27th can't come soon enough!

A Tuesday in Boston

This has been such a fun week for us. Monday the hall of fame, Tuesday we went to Boston, Wednesday had a doctor's appointment where we heard the heartbeat again, Thursday getting the announcement ready, and Friday- finally announcing!

Back to Tuesday, We were invited to lunch with Matt's friend Nick from BYU. Nick is getting his PHD in accounting at M.I.T. and moved out to Mass just a few days ahead of us. We woke up early and drove the hour and 40 minutes to the temple and did some work for Matt's ancestors and then we headed over to Nick's apartment for lunch. We hadn't seen Nick or his family sent moving out here even though we live in the same state! We decided that we won't let another year go by before we see each other again. It is so fun having BYU friends out here in New England and being able to compare notes on things we miss about Provo.

We had some yummy sandwiches on homemade bread and enjoyed each other's company. We wanted to tell them our good news but wanted to wait to be safe since our appointment was the next day! After lunch Matt and I headed over to Georgetown cupcakes( D.C. cupcakes on TLC) to get some. It was a perfect day with beautiful weather and friends!

Basketball Hall of Fame

On Monday we went to the Basketball of Fame in Springfield. Our friend is doing a summer internship there so we were able to get in for free! Some of my favorite things we saw was the honor ring. It the top floor and it is where they have pictures of all the hall of famers with some awesome artifacts. I loved seeing the olympic medals and seeing how the uniforms have evolved over time. The second floor has some fun interactive things like finding out your vertical leap, how to jump to get a rebound, one on one video game, and seeing if you could palm a basketball.  There is also a walk through time line of basketball. They also had some of the different jerseys and video clips. On the bottom floor they have a court where you can practice slam dunks and also play basketball with all the different versions of the hoop, including the peach basket. It was a fun afternoon spent with friends.

Summer happenings

I just looked and the last time I blogged was July 1st and it was about things in June. July was mainly spent trying to not let anyone know that I was pregnant and trying not to throw up. Oh the joys of the first trimester!

We participated in a Relay for Life with our ward. We walked from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Our group- It was so fun next year we want to bring a tent and party all night and do a cook out!

Matt and I have tried all the soft serve dip flavors at our local ice cream stand.
(Cherry, chocolate, blue raspberry, cotton candy, peanut butter, and cake batter)

I made homemade swig cookies! Sour cream frosting so good!

In May I officially had lost 49 pounds but lets just round that to 50 POUNDS! I would like to lose another 15 but that will happen after the baby!

Fourth of July outfits!

Jamberry nails

I love sprinkles!

Free slurpees for 7-11

$1 ben and jerry ice cream  at the yankee candle factory!

Face chatting with my best friend Kaiti and her adorable baby Olivia

Anniversary Photo Shoot

Yes it is August 15 and we celebrated our anniversary on May 13th,but I had to do a post about our traditional picture. Normally my sister Allie would style me and then take the pictures for us,but we live  on different coasts now so we asked our friend Lisa to take the pictures. The nice thing about living in Mass is you don't have to go far to find a beautiful background.

A quick trip

A couple of weeks ago Matt and I drove down to Virginia for a cousin's wedding. It was a quick trip, but while there we were able to do a lot of fun things. We ate lots of good food especially MEXICAN! We went to a Washington Nationals game, where it went to the 13th inning, we only stayed until the 11th! We only stayed until the 11th and we made the most of the experience by eating cotton candy and pastrami/cuban sandwiches! The ballpark is literally right off the metro, it was cool to basically hop right into the game.

While in Virginia I was able to meet up with Chelsea one of my dearest friends. We met a noodles and company for lunch to chat up. She then drove us into D.C. where we went to try this cupcake place Baked and Wired. It was good, but I think I still prefer Georgetown  Cupcakes. We went shopping at Tyson's Corner and just enjoyed being together. Chelsea said that I'm her friend that she has hung out with in more places than anyone else. We met in Provo, I  visited her in Seattle, she came to Texas for my wedding, we met up in Salt Lake in April( I'm counting it as a different place since we don't live there anymore) ,and now Virginia! I love that we follow each other around.

On Sunday was our cousin Sarah's wedding. The whole reason for our trip down there. It was at this beautiful location in Maryland. The ceremony was under a tree and it was so beautiful and loving. She had the same ministers that married her parents and used the same vows they used over 30 years ago. The reception was such a party. The d.j was great and got lots of people up and dancing! It was a really fun night, where we got to see all the Starliper clan.

Another thing that we have to do while in Virginia is eat at Cafe Rio! We had just make a copycat meal of Cafe rio a week before we came out and having the real thing reminded us just how good the real thing is and how off our recipe is. I love that the cafe rios on the east coast have free refills on their horchatas! I also cut my brother Andrew's hair while I was there and it turned out great. Matt's mom took us shopping and got us a ton of fun treats to take back with us! It was a great trip and we are hoping we can make another trip before next summer since this year is Christmas in Texas!
