Candy

On March 26th we got a new car. This is very exciting but also very sad. Sad because I had to trade in my CRV Candy. I got Candy for my 16th birthday (thank you mom and dad)! So I had 9 years of memories with her. She drove me around when I was a teen in Texas. My mom and I drove her to BYU for my freshman year and I made the trip between Utah and Texas 3 times. She also drove Matt to the temple to marry me and we drove her on our honeymoon. We drove her to Virginia for our reception from Texas. Her last long distance trip was from Utah to Massachusetts. She was a fantastic car and she will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm so thankful one of her last trips was bringing my baby home from the hospital. Candy was a 2000 Honda CRV so when I got her she was already 6 years old, we put a lot of miles on her and she just wasn't keeping up with our driving demands anymore and was having mechanical issues every few months and it just wasn't in our budget to keep replacing and repairing her every other month. So we traded her in as the down payment on a 2015 Toyota Rav 4 that we are leasing for 3 years while we live in Mass. We are really enjoying having a brand new car and not having to worry about car problems anymore. Here are SOME of the many pictures I have of Candy!

Buddies

My friend Lisa has the cutest boy Burton who is one of Coop's buddies. They are 3 months apart and Burton is only 3 inches taller than Cooper. Mostly they just lay or sit next to each other but they look really cute while doing it.  I can't wait to see how their friendship grows over the next couple of months.

Dustin and Jimmy

On April 12th, my cousin Dustin and uncle Jimmy died in a fatal car accident. I cannot think about them without crying. They are survived by my aunt Sharron and cousin Laney.
Dustin is my younger cousin and growing up it was sometimes hard to want to play with a boy who was so much younger than me. But as we grew up he became one of my best friends. I'm so thankful that he also became friends with Matt. There are so many positive things that I can say about Dustin, he really had everything going for him. He was fiercely loyal to his family and just the nicest guy. There is definitely a hole in my heart from missing him.
My uncle Jimmy was a talker and he always had a story to tell. He also had a heart of gold and always took care of Matt and me and was very generous.
I'm so thankful for the knowledge that families can be together forever. I know that I will see Dustin and Jimmy again one day. I know that they are not suffering and they are doing the Lord's work on the other side of the veil. Until we meet again.
Below are some of my favorite pictures I had of Dustin.

25th Birthday

I am 25! That feels like such an adult age. I got a free bowl of noodles and a burger. I started the day off with breakfast with Matt and then my last scheduled doctor's appointment.  We went to Costco to get some last minute things before Cooper and then to On the border for my birthday dinner. We finished the night at Cold Stone! So now Cooper can make his arrival any minute now!
(Edit: He came 10 days after my birthday!)

Valentine Dessert Party

Our friends the Bowens had us over the Sunday after Valentine's day for a dessert/ going away party for our friends the Youngs. It was such a cute party with delicious food! Lisa made all the desserts and did a fantastic job!  There was chocolate cake frosted like roses, heart shaped oreo truffles, gluten free fruit pizza, and mini donuts. We brought cheese and crackers and there was a veggie tray and fruity slush drink.  Besides the food there were cute babies there! Sierra and Burton are so excited to meet their new pal Cooper. Sierra always stares at my belly and at the party she was rubbing my tummy- I think she remembers Cooper from heaven. I'm excited for Cooper to join the party soon! I miss you Angie and Trevor!

Valentine's day

I love Valentine's day! I have the tradition of leaving Matt a love note from February 1st through the 14th. I love taking time to think of new reasons of why I love Matt. We went out to dinner on Friday to Red Robin where I had my free birthday burger!  We ended the night with milk shakes even though it was only in the teens. On Saturday I surprised Matt with a pancake breakfast and he gave me beautiful flowers, candy, and a cute teddy bear I wanted for Cooper. I got Matt his favorite Mexican candy and a new lapel pin for his suit, but they didn't actually arrive on time.  For dinner I made home made heart shaped pizzas (the crust was the best one yet!!) We decided to have a candle lit dinner and we each expressed our love for each other after we finished eating! It was the perfect night in with the love of my life! It was so nice being able to have this romantic holiday alone one last time.
