Pre Christmas 2015

We always go to our parents for Christmas, but before we go we open presents from the family we aren't visiting and from each other. I love this tradition because we get to have our own Christmas with just our small family before the big day. We opened presents on December 19th. Before this day we had the couch and our arm chair blocking the tree so Coop couldn't get into the ornaments. He was so excited when he was finally allowed to touch the tree! We were so spoiled by my family and it was fun to see Coop experience opening presents for the first time!

I love my iphone 6- Thanks mom and dad!

I gave Matt Harry Potter Illustrated and he was so shocked. I love that I caught his reaction on camera, so priceless!

10 months

We are in the double digits! Oh my gosh! Cooper is so fun, he has the best personality and he makes me laugh all day. He is growing so tall! He grew an inch over Christmas break! We came back from Virginia and he could reach things, he couldn't before and he can't stand under the table anymore. He keeps forgetting this and bumps his head a few times daily( nothing serious!) He has 7 teeth! The top 4 took forever to come through and caused him major discomfort and some bleeding from them coming through. We didn't even realize he had another bottom tooth until we happened to peek in randomly. So it seems like the bottom teeth are easier for him than the top. He likes to smile with all his teeth, so we think he will have my smile! Another change this month is Cooper can walk really well now and he is getting quick! His sleep got a little messed up with traveling, teething, and a growth spurt. But now that we are home he is sleeping a little better it seems like he is doing 4-5 hours stretches and he has even slept in to almost 9 a few days! He still takes 2 naps and he sleeps between 1-2 hours at each nap. He is still a fantastic nurser, but he also loves eating food too. His new favorite is cheerios! He wants to eat whatever we are eating and gets upset if we won't share! He says mom whenever he wants something especially food and he gets louder and more frequent with his moms until he gets what he is eyeing. We are doing baby sign language with him,so when he gets worked up and demanding we try to stop and show him the sign for please or more before giving him something. He is such a performer and he loves to look at us for reactions. He still loves to dance and dances without holding on to things now and he does this really crazy head shaking thing when he is getting into the music. He dances to any sound and it's interesting to see what sounds he thinks are worth dancing too like the microwave or a water fountain humming. He loves to play and laugh. He is so curious and bright. I love being his mom and getting to stay at home with him everyday.

Ward Christmas Party

This year I was in charge of our ward's Christmas party. I really believe that the Christmas party should be a special event and nicer than other parties or activities throughout the year. My good friend Hillary is a decorating genius so I asked her to do the decorations and she blew me away! We did a sit down dinner with long tables and we had the youth serve the food. Everyone had a fantastic time and I was so proud of my ward and their support. We had the party of December 5th from 4-6 and we really stressed that we wanted it to be on time and everyone was! It was amazing and shocking! Since I was recently called to be the Young Women's President for the ward, I was also in charge of training the youth on how to serve and I was so proud of them being willing to help out. It was a little overwhelming how much help I had, but I was so thankful for them. We had a dinner of ham, mashed potatoes, rolls, salad, and desserts! We bought spiral sliced ham and asked a few people to cook them for us. Matt and I decided to make all the mashed potatoes so that they were consistent. We ended up peeling, cooking, cutting, boiling, and mashing 60 pounds of potatoes it was an all day affair! We had the rolls and desserts be potluck. My friend Linda was in charge of the entertainment and she had people in the ward share their musical talents and she did a nice nativity story. I also like that she had us write what we would give Jesus this Christmas season. It was a wonderful evening and hopefully I'm not in charge next year. ;)
The set up

It was a long day for Coop- he passed out thanks to our friend Emily

Checking out the trees with friends
December 5th was the eve of St. Nicholas Tag- so we made sure to leave our shoes out that night and this is what we woke up to in the morning!

Cooper's first Thanksgiving

I'm a little behind in blogging, but since we are experiencing lots of Cooper's firsts I want to make sure there are recorded. We decided to stay home for Thanksgiving this year since we had been doing lots of traveling lately. I personally like cooking my Thanksgiving dinner and having all the leftovers to eat! Matt is always in charge of the turkey and we normally do just a turkey breast and cook it in the crock pot so our oven is free for all the sides. I made my homemade rolls and a pecan pie-my favorite. Matt and Coop matched and I loved it! Coop tried turkey with gravy (his first taste of meat), corn, roll, and some martinellis! He loved it all! I love my little pilgram!

9 months

Cooper is 9 months and officially walking! He is go go go all day everyday. He is getting fast too. He does have some slight bowing to his legs, but should go away as he grows and walks more. He is such a little boy and always seems to have a bruise on his head these days. He still only has 2 bottom teeth but the top 4 are poking through,so hopefully they push through soon. They have really bothered him this time. We have given him some tylenol to help with the pain. The biggest improvement this month is his sleep! We have a great bedtime routine and when its time to put him in the crib we just lay him down and he rolls over and falls asleep normally no crying and he will stay asleep for 5-7 hours! He even gave us one all nighter of 11 hours straight! I love that he is finally getting into a routine and I love that he is doing it on his own schedule. He loves playing games with his dad and has the best giggle. I love how when he is sitting he crosses his ankles. He is such a dancer and will start moving to any music, sometimes he even dances to no music at all. He loves to listen to us read books and can turn the pages. He is starting to remember his favorite books and will smile when I pick it out to read it.He is a mama boy and loves to be near me pretty much all day. He loves to eat and can self feed pretty well. He wants to eat what we are eating so I'm glad that he is getting more teeth and he's 9 months so now he can eat more things like cheese! I cannot say enough good things about him. He is such a light and I love him so much and each month gets better than the last!
