On Monday I started at a new school for student teaching and I am working with 6th graders. At first I was really nervous about this assignment,but this week has been so fun! It's so fun that I can have real conversations with them and it's cool that we have similar interests. I also really enjoy that they already know how to read and instead of teaching them reading I can teach them how to be better readers. There's a boy in my class who just moved to Utah from Columbia and he speaks hardly any english. It has been interesting communicating with him, we have to use google translator on the computer and I try to remember the little spanish I do know. My mentor teacher is great, she is willing to let me teach as much as I want and is always giving me tips about how to interview or run my future class. I'm loving my new school!
Matt has been working hard doing research and just recently got a grant for the work he has done! Last week I had a doctor's appointment and he said that everything was healing and that I should be fully recovered in 3 weeks! I have been feeling more like myself and I rarely feel pain anymore. I'm so happy that I have had Matt to take care of me during this time and that I'm so close to being "normal" again.
All the houses around my school are fun colors!I loved the yellow!
The Oquirrh Mountain Temple is also in the same neighborhood as the school.
We just picked up our girl scout cookies last night so we are very happy!
