The OC

Matt and I just got back from our trip to California. We had such a great time that we didn't want to leave! We did run into a little June Gloom (a southern California thing), but overall it was a fantastic trip.

We left late on Tuesday after Matt's class,so the first night we drove just to Las Vegas and stayed on the strip,so we could experience the night life. We woke up and drove the remaining 4 hours to my Aunt's house. We dropped off our stuff and changed in our swimsuits and headed to Long Beach. The water was freezing so we just laid out on the beach watching the waves. On Thursday we spent the day exploring L.A., Beverly Hills, and Hollywood! Friday was a beach day spent at Newport. Saturday we also spent at the beach, but Crystal Cove with my the whole Sander clan. Sunday we went to church and then headed back to good ole Provo. It was quick trip, but so worth it.

Day One-
I love the pictures I get on road trips
We made a quick stop in St. George to see my past roommates who were vacationing there.
All the lights of Vegas! This reminds me of that Madonna music video.
We caught the last show of the fountains at the Bellagio.
So cool!

Day Two-
The sign!
We had to take a picture of the famous sign!
Matt was so ready for the beach!!
beach bums

 Day Three-

We went to this Mexican Market on Olvera Street.

We had a delicious Churro at Mr. Churro's that was filled with strawberries and then had lunch at this place. Beef Taquitos with avocado sauce so yummy!

We got super close to the Hollywood Sign

There was a red carpet so we had to take a picture.

Matt had fun on Hollywood Blvd.

Beverly Hills- We loved looking at all the houses and the palm trees!

L.A. Temple- We enjoyed the visitor center and walking the grounds!

Hanging out at Venice Beach
 Day Four-
We LOVED boogie boarding!

I love the faces Matt caught. The water was freezing!

Day Five-

Checking out the tide pools at Crystal Cove

Hiking the Y

Today we hiked the Y.... I did it my freshman year of college, because everyone does it when they go to BYU. It is a HARD hike. You are literally climbing up a mountain! Since I am training for a 5k I thought it would be a little easier, but it was still so hard. My body is already feeling sore, but it was on my bucket list so I'm happy to have that checked off! And it was so much easier coming down! One of the reasons I wanted to make it to the top was because we were going to have a picnic on the Y. We brought chicken salad with avocado and a fruit salad. It was a nice picnic!  After hiking we went to 7 peaks a local water park to cool off and use our pass of all passes. It was a good Saturday!

Anniversary Photo Shoot- Year 2

I love this tradition we have of doing an anniversary photo shoot. I look forward to it each year and can't wait until the next year so that we can take another picture.  Allie helped styled me for the picture and took all of them. We will miss her taking our year 3 pictures unless she comes to Massachusetts to do them for us.  It's amazing how many times you can fall in love with your spouse. Our marriage isn't perfect but it is ours and I love getting to spend every year with Matt.

I love allie

I guess I have a thing for no faces pictures
