24th Birthday

I really wasn't looking forward to this birthday like I normally look forward to my birthday. Mainly because I knew it wouldn't be a celebration surrounded by friends. My birthday fell on a Sunday,so we celebrated Saturday by going shopping, eating at On the Border(my fav), and hot tubbing! Matt planned a great birthday weekend and my birthday turned out to be a quiet weekend spent with my best friend.

First 100

Chick fil A has a contest for the first 100 customers at a new store opening. If you camp out before the store opens you get a year's worth of coupons for a free chicken sandwich, fries, and drink! Matt and I were so excited to do this and we are glad we did! It was freezing, but they gave us cookies and hot chocolate to help ease some of the cold and the store was open for you to come in and try to warm up. After waiting, when it is time to open you line up in groups of 25 and they check your wristband and give you a free shirt and ticket. You return the ticket to get your coupons! You get to shake the store owner's hand as you get your coupons! It was such a cool experience and Matt and I love our shirts and all the free food we are able to get!

Chick fil A Premiere Night

On Tuesday night ( 2-18-14) Matt and I had the opportunity to attend the premiere night of the first Chick fil A in Western Mass.( It is the first one, because Mass is VERY liberal and gay friendly and the Chick fil A owner had given money to anti- gay businesses before- so it is a BIG deal one is finally here!) One of my favorite things about the night was how much they mentioned God. It truly is a Christ centered business. Something I didn't know about Chick fil A is that before they open their restaurants they dedicate it to God and have a dedication dinner with just the employees. I think that is so awesome! We really enjoyed having a sampling of all the food on the menu, it was fun to try our favorites along with some things we had never tried before. We also got to take a tour of the kitchen and see how everything is made! They use raw chicken and don't bread the chicken until it is ordered. Everything really is fresh and that is the reason the A is capital, because they do A quality food and service. As part of the tour we got to make our own ice cream cone. They had a raffle for prizes and Matt and I both won something. He got a shirt and I got a cooler. As we were leaving we got to take a picture with the cow and got a free thermal and fresh baked cookie that was still warm! We had a great night and we are glad we could be the first customers served at this new location! Thanks Chick fil A!

Love Day 2014

February is the shortest month and with 2 holidays to celebrate, I feel like it comes and goes so quickly.  So even though we are already a week into March I want to catch up on some February happenings. For Valentine's Day this year we had a snow day for school and I was so bummed because I had baked cookies to bring to the kids and holidays in elementary school are so fun! Good thing Matt got me my favorite candy and beautiful flowers. One of my favorite things about Valentine's Day is the card Matt writes for me, it is always so lovey dovey and gushy and I almost always cry, because he is so wonderful. My card is normally more funny or punny, but I do 14 days of love notes on our door so he gets a little love everyday leading up to the 14th to make up for my lack of gush on the actual day. Matt and I wanted to go to Texas roadhouse for dinner so we made sure to call ahead and reserve a seat. We had a coupon for a free app so we got our favorite- fried pickles! I don't know how they make them so delicious we have tried multiple times at home and we never come close. After dinner we came home and watched a movie. On Saturday we went to the temple with our good friends and it was seriously such a good trip. I'm so grateful to be a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.
